Thoughts are Things/Words are Powerful

By now, I'm sure you've heard of the Law of Attraction, as it more than recently became popularized in movies (and books) like The Secret and What The Bleep Do We Know?  The Law of Attraction is a law of the Universe which basically states that "like attracts like".  That's the simplest explanation of this law.

The thoughts we think, whether positive or negative, actually attract things into our reality.  The more we believe in these thoughts, the more powerful they are.  The more powerful our thoughts, the faster they come into fruition.

This is why it's so important to think and feel as happy and positive as possible.  This is why it's so imperative to do as many things as you can throughout the day that make you happy!

Here's the good news about the Law of Attraction and how our thoughts become things.  It takes longer for negative thoughts to manifest into reality than it does for positive ones.  And these thoughts don't just manifest at the snap of a finger! On the flip side, it takes ten times as many positive thoughts to wash out one negative thought.

You must do whatever is necessary to keep yourself in the most positive, upbeat, happy-go-lucky mood as you can possibly be AT ALL TIMES.  This way, negativity will just bounce off of you.  Things that used to bother you before will barely even effect you if you're happy most of the time.

Whatever puts you in a great mood, do it more often.  Here's a song that's BOUND to get you into a happy mood, so just listen to this if you're ever feeling down or just want to be in a great mood!  It's Happy by Pharrell Williams, here's the YouTube link.

Now, I've talked about our thoughts being powerful, but let me stress that our words are powerful as well. Our words to not only describe our reality, but they also define our reality.

Keep the Momentum Going

As we start a new month and end the month of January, I want to remind everyone to keep the momentum going.  The same momentum you had on December 31st as we went into the new year.

It's never too late (or too early) to set goals.  Don't follow the old cliche of setting New Year's Resolutions. People seem to only stick to resolutions for the first 3 weeks of the year.  However, goals can be set for tomorrow... next year...10 years from now.  Setting goals gives you something to look forward to, and you feel a great sense of accomplishment once they're achieved!

Don't worry...if you've already broken some of the "New Year's Resolutions" you've set for yourself, it's never too late to get back on track.  Don't beat yourself up and don't feel like a failure if you fell off track. Find out when and where you fell off and what you need to do in order to get back on track.

Beginning each month, evaluate the past month as well as what's ahead of you.  Evaluate your short term and long term goals.  See if you're still on track and make adjustments as needed.

Always stay focused on the outcome...the end result and what will come out of your accomplishments. This will help you keep the momentum going!  Keep in mind the reasons why you're taking the steps needed towards achieving your goals.

As a life and success coach, I have specific ways to help people set achievable goals effectively.  I have seen numerous positive results from my techniques.  If you need help with setting and achieving your goals, Contact Me today!

Do you know what you want?

Do you know what you want?

If you don’t have a specific direction to go in, your goals will just be somewhat like, “Well, I don’t want what I have now…” How specific is that? Not at all...is it?

You need to make sure your goals are specific and motivated towards what you want. Whenever you have a goal or action step, you need to set intentions for the outcome by already seeing it the way you want it to be.

Whatever you want, if you can conceive it, your unconscious mind will help you to achieve it.  But you have to tell your unconscious mind specifically what you want.

Stay focused on the end goal - the end result!

When you’re writing your goals, write them down with intention and purpose and know exactly what you want so that when the Universe presents you with opportunities, you’ll recognize them and know when to take action!

...and on that note, I leave you with this quote from Mahatma Gandhi...

“It's the action, not the fruit of the action, that's important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there'll be any fruit. But that doesn't mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.”

Conscious mind vs. Unconscious mind

What's the difference between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind?

You've heard people say we only use 10% of our brain, right?  It's actually less than that! And the part of our brain they're referring to is the unconscious (or subconscious) mind, which takes up over 99% of our brain power....yet, many people are not in touch/in tune with this part of their brain.

The unconscious mind is what's mainly running your body...it's keeping your heart beating...it swings your right arm when you step your left foot forward...it grows your fingernails, toenails, and runs all of the parts of your body that you're not consciously aware of.  You don't even have to think of these things consciously because your faithful, dedicated, powerful unconscious mind does all of these things for you.

Your unconscious mind also holds all of your memories...anything you've ever saw, heard, felt, or thought of...it's still up there.  Some things, we don't need to retain consciously.  It's just not necessary.  The world around us is not at all the way we perceive it to be (consciously).  Our unconscious mind constantly organizes our outside world to make it real to us.  Each person perceives the world differently, according to their own values and beliefs.  Nothing in the world has meaning, until we give it meaning...hence the philosophical question "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" (I don't know, I hope you weren't expecting an answer from me, just trying to make a point here...)

The point I'm getting at is this...as I've said...nothing has meaning, until we give it meaning.  The meaning we give things are basically based on our core values and beliefs.  Some of these values and beliefs are what you picked up from childhood, maybe from the adults you were mostly around ... parents... grandparents... but what are your values now?  What are your beliefs now, as an adult?  Maybe it's time to re-evaluate some of those values and beliefs and make sure they are in line with who you are now.

Get in touch with your unconscious mind...go inside, and ask yourself...what are my beliefs?  What are my core values?  You may be surprised at what you find...
